The
Richard Neutra designed VDL Research House in Los Angeles announces
Architectones, an installation by French artist,
Xavier Veilhan. Architectones inhabits modernist landmarks worldwide and will feature Veilhan's work at the Silver Lake home designed by famed architect, Richard Neutra. Veilhan has created a body of site-specific installation work for the VDL House to be unveiled Wednesday, August 8 from 5-8pm along with a reception with the show continuing until Sunday, September 16, 2012.

The artist has created work consisting of monochrome interventions with sculptures throughout the property including gardens, interiors and rooftops. Veilhan will present an airborne performance that is sure to captivate the eyes on the opening night at 7pm, as a plane carrying a monochrome banner as a blank, abstract announcement of the exhibition will fly above the Silver Lake Reservoir.

The first Modernist landmark to install Veilhan's work will be the VDL Research House while artist and family live in the home while the installation takes place.

The VDL Research House is located at 2300 Silver Lake Blvd, 90039. The exhibit is open Thursday-Sunday from August 9 - September 16, 2012. Hours are Thursday/Friday 3-8pm and Saturday/Sunday 11am-4pm. Admission is $10 on Saturdays when there are docent-led architecture tours of the house. Suggested donation on others days is also $10 which allows you into future related events at VDL House.
